Keeping the pedals turning through the winter in Montana is always a bit of a challenge. For me winter riding is usually limited to tungsten studded commutes and strategically planned escapes to warmer climes.  Although, this winter has been exceptionally mild and dry leaving many of the gravel roads around Bozeman mostly clear of snow.

Before the deep freeze last week Lily and I were able to sneak in a chilly gravel bike ride west of town to a natural hot spring on the Jefferson river.  The cold is so much more inviting when you have a steaming mineral bath waiting for you at the halfway point. This is fast becoming my favorite way to seize the mild winter sunshine. Here are a few photos from our ride last week, hope everyone's year is off to a great start!
